Matilda Mwaba

Ms. Mwaba is co-founder of the National Organisation for Women in Sport Physical Activity and Recreation (NOWSPAR) where she’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Women Sport Africa Network (WSAN) launched in 2018. 

Her work focuses on advocacy for participation of girls and women in sport, sport for development, organisational development, and policy engagement on the integrity of sport. 

In 2014, she was presented the AUSC5 Region 5 award for her work in sport by the then SADC Chair, His Excellency Robert Mugabe. 

In 2019 Ms. Mwaba was awarded the Presidential Insignia of Meritorious Achievement for her contribution to sport by the president of Zambia, His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu. Ms. Matilda Mwaba is Africa representative on the Global Executive of the International Working Group on Women in Sport (IWG) and is speaking here today in this capacity.

Lombe Mwambwa

Lombe is Special Adviser at National Organisation for Women in Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (NOWSPAR) and Anita White Foundation (AWF). She’s worked in SfD for over 15 years on issues of inequalities within sport and sport to address societal inequalities. Her research, advocacy and practice focus on safeguarding and protection in sport and on leadership. Her doctoral research at the University of Chichester, UK inquired into the experiences of women leaders of sport organisations within the African Union Sports Council Region 5. She supports teaching on the Master of Physical Education and Sport programme at the University of Zambia

Sylvia Chalikosa

Sylvia Chalikosa is a Zambian Member of Parliament for Mpika central constituency and she is currently the Minister of Works and Supply.
